Coleman lantern 17b12/7/2023 I replaced it myself rather than going back to CW. I replaced it and Dutchman reimbursed me for the pump, since I was still under warranty. I found what looked like drill shavings in the pump inlet. The only significant build quality issue that I ran across was that the water pump stopped working. If the Jaycos come with that, that's a definite plus. Also, we installed gas lifts in all of the cabinets, because it was annoying to have to hold them open. I still use it, but just mentioning that. At 6 feet, I can touch my head to the roof if I straighten all the way up. Our furnace ran surprisingly little to keep the camper warm one night when it was just below freezing, so I'd think that a 1500W (assuming) electric heater would also be able to keep the camper warm, but it will be at capacity when it's very cold, and it might take a while to warm a cold camper. So is the propane just for the hot water and stove? Once they are that close, it almost makes more sense to go all-electric and just use a portable stove and camp showers when dry camping. The window style air conditioner is comically loud I looked at replacing it, but decided not to mess with it, so if the Jayco has a unit that doesn't sound like a jet taking off, that might be good. Honestly, if I had to replace my fridge, I'd get an electric one and use coolers when not hooked up, because the 2 way fridge takes so long to get cold. It looks like the main difference is the bunk size (which also means you get a little more room in the bathroom), as well as the "electric fireplace" instead of the propane furnace. At 41 inches wide, the Coleman 17B is one of the wider seating dinettes that you’ll actually find in a small single axle trailer. We have a 17FQ that we're pretty happy with. The Coleman 17B’s dinette measures in at about 70 inches long and 41 inches wide. The dinette is technically a single person sleeper but can fit two small children if need be. The rear bunks measure in at 72 inches of length, 29 inches of width and have a 300 pound sleeping capacity per bunk. At only 21 foot and 5 inches of total over length, the Coleman Lantern LT 17B boasts a whopping 5-6 person sleeping capacity with sleeping on the front queen bed, the dinette and of course the rear bunks. The sleeping capacity is what really sells this trailer. The downside to the fireplace is that you need to be plugged into an RV compatible generator in order to run it. The fireplace comes equipped with temperature control. Dutchmen, in the interest of conserving as much propane as possible, removed the traditional propane furnace and has added a 5,200 BTU electric fireplace underneath the kitchen countertop. One feature that really caught our eye was the fireplace. The refrigerator includes temperature control as well as a small icebox freezer at the top of the fridge. In place of the small 3.3 cubic refrigerator, Dutchmen included an upgraded 12 volt refrigerator that is able to run off of your 12 volt trailer battery. This value-oriented Coleman lineup doesn’t skimp on amenities or quality, which means you can continue to create camping traditions for years to come. A single 20 pound propane tank means that the Coleman 17B is equipped with the smaller 2 burner stove top rather than the 3 burners that you’ll find in the Coleman’s larger counter parts.Īt the front of the trailer, just before the battery tray, you’ll find that the Coleman 17B is coming from Dutchmen with a small portable solar prep. Whether you're wanting to enjoy the great outdoors or looking to create camping traditions of your own, the Lantern LT series is ready to usher you outside. ![]() Like most single axle trailers on the market, the Coleman Lantern LT 17B comes from the manufacturer equipped with a single 20 pound propane tank at the front of the trailer. single axle bunkhouse trailer that is exclusively built for and sold at Camping World locations across the county.
